Artist’ statement

Gregory’s art practice is underlined by his interest and research of anatomy and the practical experience of how the body works gained through cadaver dissection.

Gregory applies a sculptural approach as he considers the hidden and intimacy of the body and its relationship with the world. Gregory produces new elements to the sculptural language he produces into his work, terms that are used to describe growth that are synonymous with the economic, political and fiscal environment.

Gregory’s works are constructed with ubiquitous low brow materials like tissue paper, packaging papers and inks and paint. The works becoming part of an alien topography conceived by Gregory to intrude into the viewers consciousness and awaken them to their own assumptions of being.
